I’m a mega-fan of Frédéric Esmonin’s Gevrey-Chambertins, and while Les Genévrières is technically not a Gevrey-Chambertin, it is indelibly Esmonin. It is made by Frédéric in Gevrey-Chambertin alongside his Grand Cru and Premier Cru Burgundies. Youthful and full of life, it opens with the ethereal Esmonin bouquet of subtle cherry and wildflowers. On the palate, a lovely core of vibrant Pinot Noir fruit fills out the youthful framework with plush, quaffable fruit. Delectable now, with an expressive future ahead. It's an incredible value.

Les Genevrieres glows light red in the glass, yielding aromas of tart cranberry, ripe strawberry, and hints of brown spices. On the palate, soft cherry fruit eases into fleshed-out raspberry elements. The finish is bright and elongated, tying together a very charming, easy-to-drink Burgundy.
