Description
What sets this apart from virtually every other Chianti is the exclusive use of the scrumptious (and rare) Morellino clone of the Sangiovese grape. As the Morellino name implies, this wine surges with sumptuous notes of Morello cherries, a gustatory treat I find irresistible. It's also nicely complex, with the fruit accented by the traditional Chianti notes of dried herbs, violets, and subtle hints of balsamic. A joy to drink now and year-round. Enjoy this with red meats, poultry, pizza, pasta marinara, and tomato, sweet red pepper, or eggplant-based veggie casseroles.
