This nervy rosé really needs a plate of fresh, briny oysters to show at its best. The bouquet is classic Sancerre, with plenty of minerally notes to complement the tart strawberry notes of the Pinot Noir grape. An ideal match with classic Loire cuisine such as such as goat cheese, ceviche, and of course, oysters.
Easy-going and vivaciously fruity, this 100% Pinot Noir reminded me of a hypothetical cross between a Cru Beaujolais and a Sancerre blanc. The bright red Pinot Noir fruit is abundant, supple, and pure, with surprising grip and intensity for Sancerre rouge. It offers abundant grapy freshness, with distinct notes of the flinty Sancerre terroir rising toward the finish.
