Brilliant color with a nose dominated by pistachio almond with lychee notes. The mouth is both powerful and generous.
The 2020 IGP Pays d'Oc la Falaise Blanche breaks from the past few vintages and incorporates a bit of Grenache Gris in the blend. As usual, it gets whole-cluster-pressed, then placed into tank and kept chilled for up to 10 days prior to the kickoff of fermentation. Fermentation is later finished in demi-muids and foudres. It's creamy, lush and generous, with ripe flavors of pear and melon balanced by bracing notes of lime zest and brine. Drink this medium to full-bodied white wine over the next three or four years.
Honeyed stone fruits, ripe peach, and floral notes all emerge from the 2020 La Falaise Blanc, a richer, medium-bodied, textured, impressively balanced white. As with everything from this great estate, it's well-made and has lots to love.
