Bright garnet with ruby reflections. Dark cherries and currants in the warming nose, underlaid with bacon plums and fine minerality reminiscent of black elder and blackberries. Velvety palate with pleasant fullness and lots of juice, supple and punchy at the same time, now also blueberry muffins and blackberry confectionery, continuous fruit pressure until the gently fading finish.
Impressive blackberry and raspberry fruits as well as peppery garrigue and assorted meaty, almost bloody notes emerge from the 2019 La Clape La Falaise. A rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced and elegant red, it should drink nicely right out of the gate yet also evolve for 7-8 years, if not a decade.
Complex, harmonious and fresh. This sleek and focused red shows a pure beam of wild currant and brambly fruit flanked with garrigue, Earl Grey tea, anise and graphite notes all bound by svelte tannins. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Drink now through 2029.
