The 2019 La Rose Perrière is gorgeous, just as it was in barrel. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, spice, tobacco and chocolate are all kicked up in this racy, flamboyant Lussac from Jean-Luc Sylvain. The 2019 is beautifully done.
Bright dark cherries, sandalwood, candied violets, plums, and spicy oak all emerge from the 2019 Château La Rose Perrière, a medium to full-bodied, rich, structured 2019 that needs bottle age. I like its mid-palate, and it has rock-solid density to buffer its tannins, so give bottles 3-5 years if you can. It should drink brilliantly over the following decade.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 La Rose Perriere leaps from the glass with bold scents of warm plums, baked blackberries and fresh black cherries plus hints of star anise, lilacs and forest floor. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with a soft, velvety texture and harmonious freshness, finishing long and perfumed. I love how the name and label truly fit the style of this gorgeous wine!
