Château Bernadotte is located on well-drained vineyards in the Haut-Médoc commune of Saint-Sauveur, located just west of Pauillac. Long known for quality and consistency, it has gained new status and sophistication since the arrival in 2015 of consulting enologist Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of Château Angélus. Already showing off a plummy, blackberry core of Cabernet Sauvignon (51%), Merlot (48%), and Petit Verdot (1%) fruit, this posh Bordeaux from the classic 2016 vintage is soft, round and approachable.
Carlos’ Cheese Pairing: Saint Nectaire
One of our most popular cheeses, “Saint Nectaire” was given its name by King Louis XIV! One of the great semi-soft cheeses of Southern France’s Avignon region, the fresh local cow’s milk imparts a deep, clean flavor of earth, similar to freshly picked mushrooms with aromas of herbs and earthy, nutty notes.
Château Bernadotte produces red wines with a beautiful tannic structure, rich in color, elegant and charming, fine and full-bodied, with generous scents.
