Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown on the Produttori's prized Barbaresco vineyards. Vinification is virtually identical to that of the Produttori's regular Barbaresco. Following a traditional 22-day maceration on the skins, the wine is fermented in in stainless steel tanks at a relatively high 82°F. Following fermentation, the wine spends an additional six months in large oak casks before bottling. The Produttori is particularly proud of the 2011 Nebbiolo Langhe, feeling that the quality is exceptional, and I agree. While a little easier and more fruit forward than the Barbaresco, it comes very close in quality. Simply, a terrific value in a first-rate Nebbiolo wine.
