The textbook definition of Malbec in a very good vintage. Bright violet in color, this wine is fresh and floral, featuring blackberry, plums and violets on the nose and palate. The wine is soft and round with a noticeable minerality, silky tannins mark a lengthy finish. Low yields, careful vineyard management and low intervention winemaking are the hallmark of this wine.
Achaval Ferrer's 2020 Malbec Mendoza is a blend of grapes from the Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza that spent nine months in used French oak. Purple in color with a diaphanous but vivid nose of fresh plum, violets and country herbs with a hint of balsam, it’s terse in feel with a juicy, delicate flow. The grippy tannins are supported by the packaged freshness to enhance the long, bold finish. A well-rounded wine.
