Quite stylish, harmonious, and complex, with a generous finishing sheen of new oak that makes it taste considerably more expensive than its modest price would suggest. -- Ben Giliberti
We tasted this jet-black wine during our visit with American-born negociant Jeff Davies. We were amazed by the purity of fruit and freshness of this big wine, and we found out that's due in part to the high percentage of Petit Verdot (35%) used in the blend. Should age nicely for those patient enough to hold on to it!
This sturdy red has enticing aromas of blackberry, spice and espresso, with a dense and long finish. Should show nicely in 4-5 years. -- CW Wine Staff (April 2011)
We've been carrying the Thieuley wines forever and they're always consistently good. Lots of upfront fruit leads to a nice, clean finish. The concentration is there but the tannins are soft so it should be drinking well early.

Our friend Jeff Davies introduced us to this wine and we're happy he did! It has aromas of sweet black fruit, with rich, saturated flavors. The structure is finely balanced and the finish is quite long. While just the "basic" bottling from Domaine du Bouscat, it's a great wine and a tremendous value.
Also from the innovative Jonathan Maltus, this easy to drink bargain has sweet, cherry-like fruit in the nose. It has bright and lively flavors that are balanced nicely with soft tannins. Lots to enjoy here. -- CW Wine Staff (April 2011)
