 | | Produced by the esteemed house of Antinori in the southern Italian region of Puglia, on the "heel" of the Italian boot, Tormaresca Neprica is a juicy blend of Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are selected exclusively from Antinori's impeccably run Puglian estates, Masseria Maime at San Pietro Vernotico, and Bocca di Lupo at Minervino Murge. The Negroamaro and Primitivo, which are indigenous to Puglia, provide ripe, generous, spicy fruit; the Cabernet Sauvignon, which has Bordeaux origins, provides tannic snap and structure to tie it all together. Offering peppery, red and black raspberry fruit highlighted by light violet notes and hints of tobacco leaf and fresh herbs, the 2010 Neprica is a great match not only with traditional Italian dishes, but also with grilled poultry and beef, as well as with vegetarian dishes featuring porcini mushrooms, wild rice, or raisins. |
