I love the light, airy clouds of bubbles of this Prosecco. Although Prosecco isn't supposed to compete with Champagne on the fineness of its bubbles, because it is made by a different carbonation process, Adami Prosecco gives Champagne a run for the money on the bubbly quotient. That, along with providing all the other fun-loving attributes of Prosecco, makes the Adami an intriguing and rewarding choice.
Straw yellow in color, the wine offers intense fruity and floral aromas of green apple, pear, and white flowers. The palate is balanced, soft and fresh in the flavor with a long fruit-driven finish.
The 2009 Villa Antinori is a pretty, mid-weight wine laced with dark red berries, flowers and sweet spices. Nothing in particular stands out, just the wine's lovely depth, balance and overall sense of harmony. This is a fabulous wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
Non Confunditur is a wine that shows definite character, it is full-bodied with soft-tannins and has a long lasting finish. This blend made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese shows exciting power, with the inherent sweetness of the Merlot acting as a bridge between the firm earthiness of the Sangiovese grape, the spicy blackcurrant of the Cabernet and the warm red fruit of the Syrah. The result is a generous, round red wine for early to mid-term drinking with nice aromas of currant and generous fruit flavors, which are versatile enough to develop more depth over several months in bottle.
