Clos Apalta, depending on your point of view, is arguably Chile's best wine. And this vintage is outstanding! Earth, minty spice, ripe berry, minerality and smoky aromas cover the bases. It's superbly structured, with a fine texture and depth. Tastes lush and complex, with blackberry, creme de cassis, fine herbs and tobacco. Finishes classy. Drink now through 2016.
Varietal: Carmenere | Location: Chile - Central Valley - Rapel Valley
Colour: Intense and deep purple red colour. Aroma: Very expressive fruit with outstanding mature berries, forest fruit joined with delicate hints of coffee and toast coming from the barrels. Palate: From the start, it’s a remarkable expression of Carmenere thanks to the typical fruit like plums, blackberries and some spicy touches. The tannins are polished and long with a medium body at the end. Food Pairing: It expresses marvelously well with game meat, garnished with sweet-and-sour sauces and berries.

Deep, a bit reduced on the nose, and full as can be, with blackberry, cassis and prune aromas. The palate is super rich and concentrated, and frankly a bit heady. Flavors of burnt brown sugar, toast, tobacco, pepper and baked berry fruits are delicious, and the finish is dense and long. Drinkable now but best in another two to four years. This marks the 20th anniversary of Concha y Toro's Don Melchor Cabernet. —Michael Schachner, Read More

A real beauty with graphite, minerality and rich, clean, exciting berry fruit and controlled oak aromas. Very pure and stylish Cabernet Sauvignon with fat but balanced cassis and sweet berry flavors. Big tannins lend structure and framework; young like a baby now; will be better and more evolved come fall, winter and over the next few years.

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon | Location: Chile - Central Valley - Maipo Valley
This wine shows the essence of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Totally fermented in stainless steel tanks, the emphasis is to maintain the vineyard’s character. It has lots of fruit, no wood and is extremely balanced, perfect to be offered by glasses. It also has the structure to accompany main dishes. An intense deep ruby red color, clear and bright, with a marked bouquet of ripe berries typical of Maipo valley. The aromas give way to mature plums and spice. In mouth, it is fresh, with good acidity and firm, velvety tannins and light notes of black fruits, typical of variety. This is an ideal wine to accompany all types of red meats, such as beef or pork ribs, as well as cold cuts and dishes with medium to spicy seasoning.
