2010 Château Bastor-Lamontagne - Sauternes (Pre-arrival) (375ml)

This lively Sauternes has good acidity which gives it great freshness and balance. At 108 grams per liter of sugar (about 10% less the "average" Sauternes) it will make a versatile food wine. -- CW Wine Staff (April 2011)
Bottle:  $14.50
Case Price (12): $168.00

2010 Château Doisy-Daëne - L'Extravagant Sauternes (Pre-arrival) (375ml)
Varietal: Bordeaux Blend | Location: France - Sauternes

WS 95
WA 95
Wow! We've been carrying this super cuvee from Denis Dubourdieu's Doisy Daene property for many years and this is definitely one of the best. Denis actually told us at our tasting that he feels it is indeed his best ever. Super sweet and rich, but with enough acidity to offer balance and freshness. Lots of candied tropical fruit flavors. An amazing effort that seems to linger in your mouth for minutes.
Bottle:  $230.00
2010 Château Guiraud - Sauternes (Pre-arrival) (375ml)
Varietal: Bordeaux Blend | Location: France - Sauternes

WS 92
WA 91
This "First Growth" Sauternes is owned by our friend Xavier Planty who has been at Guiraud nearly 30 years and just recently became owner after being winemaker and Director. This 2010 is another great Guiraud, fat and rich and quite sweet. Has the classic spiciness of Guiraud. Despite the high level of sweetness, it's fairly light on its feet. -- CW Wine Staff (April 2011)
Bottle:  $28.50
Case Price (12): $333.00

2010 Château Lamothe-Guignard - Sauternes (Pre-arrival) (375ml)
Varietal: Bordeaux Blend | Location: France - Sauternes

WA 91
The 2010 Lamothe Guignard has a tightly wound bouquet with touches of lemon curd, spice, pear skin and light honey, good definition and freshness. The palate is fresh and taut on the entry, with good minerality, including notes of citrus lemon, pear, almond and honey. The definition and focus on the finish is accomplished with a vibrant spicy finish that is most appealing. The 2010 Lamothe Guignard has a tightly wound bouquet with touches of lemon curd, spice, pear skin and light honey, good definition and freshness. 2010 Château Raymond-Lafon - Sauternes (Pre-arrival) (375ml)
Varietal: Bordeaux Blend | Location: France - Sauternes

WA 92
The Chateau Raymond-Lafon has a reticent nose at first that finds its voice after a few swirls of the glass, offering dried mango, almond and a touch of quince, all with fine delineation and intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with good acidity and tension, the minerality really coming through towards the beautifully composed finish. This is a very accomplished Raymond-Lafon that will repay cellaring. The Chateau Raymond-Lafon has a reticent nose at first that finds its voice after a few swirls of the glass, offering dried mango, almond and a touch of quince, all with fine delineation and intensity. Varietal: Bordeaux Blend | Location: France - Sauternes

WA 90-92
Bill Blatch introduced us to this property last year and it was one of our most popular 2009 Sauternes. The 2010 is a worthy successor. There's a good amount of sweetness but it's not at all heavy. Very fresh, very well-balanced, very nice!
