Also declared a "sleeper of the vintage" by Robert Parker, this delectably mouth-filling wine offers blackberry and currant fruit well-seasoned with mocha and cocoa notes. Muscular tannins are grippy but well-integrated with the fruit, and the freshness of the tannins promises excellent aging ability. Best from 2014 through 2022, but drinking quite well now with 30-45 minutes in the decanter. A super value in a fine Bordeaux. — Ben Giliberti
"This blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc displays loads of power, structure and impressive density. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple, and the wine offers up notes of black fruits, charcoal and forest floor. It is full-bodied and moderately tannic, but the low acidity and alcohol levels give it a certain accessibility. This is a sleeper of the vintage in Pomerol and possibly the best wine I have tasted from this estate. Give it several years of bottle age and drink it over the following 12-15 years."91+ points — Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
Another impressive offering from proprietor Stephan von Neipperg, this blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot displays classic notes of wet gravel as well as jammy, smoky, sweet red and black currants, raspberries and forest floor. A classic Pessac-Leognan with the lush, opulent style of 2009 well-displayed, this is a seductive, full-bodied, fleshy wine to drink over the next 10-12 years.
