2009 Château Suduiraut - S de Suduiraut Bordeaux Blanc Sec

Made by the great Sauternes producer Château Suduiraut, the delectable 2009 S de Suduiraut will prove an extra-special treat for Sauternes aficionados who may be shocked to discover that it is, of all things, a dry white wine. The grapes come from the same vineyards as the sweet wine, but are picked early in the harvest, before botrytis has set in, and before the bunches have shriveled and become intensely sweet. It offers fascinating tangerine and white peach aromas and flavors, followed by a fine dry finish. A faint "kiss" of botrytis on the aftertaste is the only clue whence it came.
