The 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Les Pierrelles (from a vineyard near Pont d’Isere), which was totally destemmed, offers savory black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with notions of licorice, herbs and pepper. It is a delicious, fruit-forward wine to drink over the next 3-4 years.
