Description:
A classic example what the English call a "luncheon claret," the ruby-hued 2008 Haut Sociondo isn't designed to overwhelm you with excessive power and mouth-searing tannins. Instead, its sole intent is to charm you, which it accomplishes with a lovely cherry and herb scented bouquet, and refined cassis and red-berry fruit on the palate. Made primarily from Merlot from an up-and-coming region on Bordeaux's Right Bank, the Premières Côtes de Blaye, this well-balanced claret is quite versatile, and will complement a wide variety of cuisines, from lighter style dishes of salmon, veal and poultry, ranging up to grilled lamb and other red meats cooked on the grill. Although it is completely ready to drink now, it will reward short-term cellaring of one to two years. |
