The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape is a must buy. It boasts a deep plum/ruby color as well as a rich bouquet of blackberries, kirsch, spice box, pepper, grilled herbs, and meat juices. With supple tannins, full body, and beautiful texture and depth, it should drink nicely for 10-15 years. |

| A dark, slightly chewy style, with braised beef, fig paste and currant notes laced with coffee and aged tobacco. There's a dash of roasted chestnut on the muscular finish. This is a solid, brawny version. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and others. Drink now through 2015. 14,165 cases made. –JM |
Deep dark red color. Spices and mature red fruits on the nose. Round tannins with powerful complexity. A rich unctuous wine with notes of mature plums, hazelnuts and red fruits. Vy rich wine full of harmony and balance. Food and wine matching: Red meat, game bird and cheese. |
