 | | Honored by Robert Parker as "one of the 20 most influential wine personalities of the past 20 years," Washingtonian Robert "Bobby" Kacher remains as passionate about ferreting out the best wines from all over the world as when he began his import business 25 years ago. Bobby's philosophy is to work as a partner with growers and winemakers, constantly pushing them to produce ever-higher quality wines. Case in point: the audaciously pink 2011 Château Grande Cassagne Rosé, made by brother team Benoît and Laurent Dardé near the village of St. Gilles, on the western edge of the Rhône Valley. It is a special cuvee produced solely for Robert Kacher Imports, available only in USA. Made from 45% Grenache, 45% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre, it offers a veritable smorgasbord of flavors, highlighted by notes of strawberry, fresh herbs, blue fruit, and black pepper, with a hint of minerally tang on a fully dry finish. |
