 | | Started in 2003 when the Cousiño family decided to create a world class wine for its 150th anniversary, Lota is Cousiño-Macul's personal statement about the unlimited potential of the estate's magnificent Maipo Valley vineyards. Dozens of small batches of Cabernet and Merlot are vinified separately, and each barrel is evaluated individually over a period of many months, to ensure that only the most exceptional lots are incorporated into Lota. The wine is then aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 15 months before bottling. The rich, profoundly deep 2007 Lota will surely follow in the footsteps of its older siblings that all received scores of 93 or 94 points from Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate. |
