 | | Vina Alicia was started as a project by the family that owns Luigi Bosca winery in an effort to focus on producing wine from small blocks of high quality grapes located throughout their vineyards. Named after and run by Alicia Arizu and one of her sons, Rodrigo (her husband and two other sons run Luigi Bosca), the winery produces less than 20,000 cases of highly sought after wine a year.
The wine, which is a beautiful dark ruby red in the glass, opens with aromas of dark, fleshy fruit and savory herbs, and is followed on the palate by flavors of rich black currant, blackberries and eucalyptus all framed by fine, well integrated tannins. This wine would be a perfect match with a ribeye steak, lamb chops or braised veal shanks.
