90-92 Barrel sample. This is a hugely ripe wine dominated by concentrated, ripe fruits and flavors of pure sweet oranges. A powerful wine, surprising because of its weight in a year that seems more about freshness, but still good. —Roger Voss, Read More

The nose takes time to coalesce in the glass, very pure with honey, white peach, Turkish Delight honeysuckle, and beeswax. The palate is beautifully balanced, still with some oak to be subsumed, but has great depth and precision. This is a confident, almost ambitious Suduiraut with great power and intensity towards the botrytis-rich, viscous finish that is endowed with great persistency. Lovely. Drink now-2030.

"Pierre Mont?gut has had some challenges since arriving at Suduiraut in 2002. But to have brought off a success like 2009, with the rapidity of the botrytis stretching this large estate‟s systems to the limit, is a real feat. His '09 continues the trend of more concentrated and sweeter wines since 1997 than previously, and, at 160 g/l, it is on a par with Rieussec. However, the resemblance ends there, and with slightly more alcohol and slightly less acidity, the structure of the Suduiraut seems softer and more frankly powerful. There is something of the 1990 in this. The usual minty and lively flavour character of Suduiraut is currently buried under all this power but you see it all there and it will be pushing progressively through during the coming months in barrel."

Suduiraut has been on a major roll as of late and this is another fantastic effort. Very rich and sweet, but extremely elegant and fresh. Notes of candied passion fruit flow through to a super long finish.

Redolent of blackberry and dark fruits, this also features a fascinating mix of mocha, graphite and tobacco flavors. Very juicy as well, which figures into the finish of fine-grained tannins and spice. An exuberant and refined Vintage Port. Best from 2020 through 2050. 5,000 cases made. ?KM

Fruity, big, ripe wine, its tannins enveloped in the ripe forward fruit. There is sweetness here from black figs and berries, while red berries give acidity. Will it age? Yes, there are tannins to put it on the long road.

Dense ruby/purple colored, with an exotic, exuberant perfume of black fruits, flowers, incense and licorice, this unctuously-textured, full-bodied port is one or the most concentrated of the vintage. Sweet, expansive, and succulent, this large scaled, but remarkably well-balanced effort is surprisingly forward and accessible (by Fonseca's stndards). 2006-2025.

The 2007 Fonseca Vintage Port is opaque purple-colored with a high-class perfume of lavender, Asian spices, pencil lead, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits. On the palate it is voluminous with layered, succulent fruit, outstanding density, and excellent integration of tannin, acidity, and alcohol. The long finish and the wine's impeccable balance suggest a lengthy evolution and a drinking window extending out to 2045.

Korbel Brut is America's favorite bottle-fermented champagne. It is used to celebrate more weddings, anniversaries, and New Years celebrations than any other quality champagne. Korbel Brut is light and crisp, with spicy fruit flavors. It is finished with a 1% dosage for a balanced medium-dry finish. Korbel Brut is perfect for every celebration and many meals. Try it with chicken dishes, oriental foods, especially those using lemon grass or mild curries. Korbel Brut is also great served with many fruits and milder cheeses.
